Chongqing bus tragedy appears to still not have registered with some commuters in China who continue to pick fights with bus drivers over the smallest of things.ast month’s
On Sunday in the Henan capital of Zhengzhou, a woman accidentally paid 1 yuan more than she was supposed to for her bus fare. Instead of just shrugging off that loss and going on with her day, the woman demanded that the driver give her a refund.
Their argument escalated after the female driver called the woman “nuts,” leading to the woman striking the driver while she was at the wheel of the bus. The two then exchanged blows as the driver stopped the bus and called the cops.
In the end, the woman was arrested and detained for four days while the driver was fined 300 yuan for her offensive language, according to the People’s Daily.
Chinese netizens have argued that the driver is being unfairly punished because the woman was obviously indeed nuts. Her outburst comes less than a month after a fight between a passenger and driver on a Chongqing bus led to the bus veering into oncoming traffic and plummeting into the Yangtze River, killing all 15 people on board.
