n Tuesday, a truck filled with Chinese liquor flipped over on a rural road in Jiangxi province, sending dozens of boxes of baijiu tumbling into a nearby river.
Quickly, local villagers rushed to the scene, helping to snatch the boxes as they floated by. It’s reported that some 700,000 yuan ($100,000) worth of China’s infamously strong grain alcohol was heading downstream.
At first, the truck driver was concerned that the locals were looting the spilled goods, something that villagers have been known to do in the past when the opportunity arises. However, they explained to them that they were here to help, not loot.
Though hopefully they at least got a box or two for their troubles.
