woman ended up quite late for work recently after attempting to breeze by a security check in a Wuhan subway station.
Surveillance footage shows the woman ignoring the directions of security guards and attempting to walk by the checkpoint without scanning her bag — as is common practice in most metro stations across China.
Unfortunately for her, she was met by an uncommonly persistent security guard who blocked her way. The woman then attempted to argue that she didn’t want to have her bag scanned because it was full of food and she was worried that the machine would poison the food, according to a Knews report.
The security guard, however, wasn’t buying it, resulting in a clash that included the woman slapping the guard in the face. Soon, metro police arrived to take the woman away. Surveillance footage shows her collapsing to the floor while being led away.
Upon investigation, the woman admitted that she attempted to bypass the security check because she was afraid of being late for work. It turns out that this fear was well-founded. She has placed under administrative detention for five days.
