motorcyclist died on Tuesday afternoon after flying off an elevated road in Shanghai following a collision.
Dashcam footage from another vehicle shows how the motorcyclist drifted into the left-side barrier at the Wenshui Overpass on the city’s North-South Elevated Road. The collision caused him to tumble over the side of the barrier. He was confirmed dead by police at the scene.
It is illegal to ride a motorcycle on elevated roads in Shanghai — partly for this very reason. You can watch video of the accident below, viewer discretion is advised:
Last month, a man was spotted riding a shared bicycle on Shanghai’s Yan’an Elevated Road while dragging a piece of luggage behind him. He was stopped and fined 50 yuan ($7.50).
