Following news getting out that Hong Kong’s tourism numbers plunged by nearly 40 percent this August amid the anti-extradition demonstrations, Chinese state media has been quick to share photos of the city’s top two theme parks, Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park, devoid of guests.
It’s unclear exactly how hard the protests have hit Hong Kong’s already struggling Disneyland but the South China Morning Post has also posted pictures of closed shops, empty streets, and deserted restaurants.
