Bad news, everyone. The Oriental Pearl Tower and other Shanghai indoor attractions are closed once closed again.
The city evidently got a bit ahead of itself by reopening the attractions gradually over this month as the number of new coronavirus cases in the city dropped to zero.
Recently, however, cases brought in from overseas have surged, leaving officials in the awkward position of having to walk back their previous loosening of restrictions.
Attractions that have shut their doors again include: the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Madame Tussauds, the Shanghai Tower, the Jin Mao Tower, the Huangpu river cruises, and pretty much every other one you could think of.
Shanghai is now up to 159 confirmed imported cases of the Covid-19 virus with six more being reported on Sunday.
To stop the flow of imported cases, China banned foreigners from entry last week while also severely cutting down on the number of international flights.
