urveillance video has hit the Chinese internet showing an example of some rather poor elevator etiquette.
In the video, four people, an elderly couple and a younger couple, enter a residential elevator together in the Jiangsu city of Nantong. The two couples are presumed to be part of the same family as shortly after entering the lift, the elderly man pulls down his pants, squats on the floor, and defecates in the corner while the other three stand around him.
When the elevator doors open, two of the people leave while another holds the door as the defecating grandpa finishes up. The elderly man is then seen leaving the lift while pulling his pants back up, leaving behind a gift for the next person to take the elevator.
That unfortunate resident told reporters that he could see immediately that the turd had come from a human and not a pet. However, he was in a hurry, so he held his nose and went inside. In a TV news report, another resident criticized the family, saying that even if the elderly man suffered from a serious medical problem, it was still their job to clean up after him.
Last month, in the nearby Jiangsu city of Suzhou, an elderly man was caught on camera taking a dump while leisurely swimming a lap in a public pool. Afterward, the man shamelessly walked out of the facility without a word of apology while the pool had to be closed down for cleaning.
