Where to eat Taiwan’s ice cream puppy in Shanghai

The dog-shaped dessert has taken the internet by storm. And now it's on the mainland

A Taiwanese restaurant has caught the attention of the worldwide media for its ice cream shaped like a puppy, and sure enough, some enterprising people have already brought it to the mainland. If you want to see and taste what the fuss is all about, here are some places around Shanghai that are selling it, and what some Dianping users are saying.

Someone Cafe (Ruijin Er Road store) / Someone Cafe

    Miss kiss – ¥159 or ¥299

“You have to reserve one week in advance on WeChat and it comes in two sizes: four inches for ¥159 and six inches for ¥299. I got the 159 one. It’s really cute and the details are very good.” – Nicole_yun

    118 Ruijin Er Road /

Lugu Tea (Yan’an Xi Road store) /

Small milk dog (小奶狗) – ¥28

“I bought the chocolate mousse version but the store only does takeaway, so we went to the nearby Starbucks to eat it. It tastes good and the price is fair, and if you have it occasionally you won’t get fat!” – Yelena Chan

    624 Yan’an Xi Road /

Cake

Sharpei dog mousse (沙皮狗慕斯) – ¥61

“I rushed from Pudong and made an appointment in advance. I bought a black Sharpei dog mousse and brought it back to Pudong. It’s very good, and the dog is not expensive.” – Tianlai_5006

    2/F, Room 203, 1000 Guohe Road /

Sky

Internet famous Sharpei dog (网红沙皮狗) – ¥88

“I bought it but I couldn’t bring myself to eat it. My friend tried it and said it was lightly creamy and not bad.” – Nianila

    112 Xiangyang Dong Road /

But wait, you can even do it yourself at home, thanks to the power of Taobao. People are selling molds of the dog online, just search for 沙皮狗慕斯模具, literally Sharpei dog mousse mold.

Now, excuse us while we chop off the head of a puppy in the name of food journalism.
