f you’re reading this on your smartphone, it might be time to put the phone down and give your hand some much-needed rest, lest you end up like the star of this strange story.
Recently, a woman in the Hunan capital of Changsha took a week off from work. However, rather than travel around during her holiday, the woman spent the entire time with her cell phone glued to her hand, only releasing the precious communication device from her grasp when she went to sleep each night, according to a Pear Video report.
Eventually, the woman began experiencing some serious pain in her right hand and found that her fingers were stuck in smartphone-holding position, unable to bend. Concerned, she went to the hospital where she was diagnosed with tenosynovitis, the inflammation of the fluid-filled sheath surrounding a tendon caused by repeating the same motion day after day.
After treatment, she regained normal movement in her hand. The doctor reminded her and all other cell phone addicts out there to give their hands a rest every once and awhile.
