Fellow visitors to the zoo in the Fujian city of Xiamen said that the tourists had pelted the croc with rocks in order to get it to move for their enjoyment. Afterward, keepers found that the reptile had suffered a wound and was bleeding from its head.
The saltwater crocodile, named Xiaohe, is touted to be the largest in Asia, measuring 5.8 meters (19 feet) long and weighing in at 1,250 kilograms (2,750 pounds).
