ecently, one Chinese college student was forced to give up her pet after discovering that “miniature pigs” don’t stay mini for long.
The student at the Guangdong Vocational College of Industry and Commerce had bought the “mini pig” online, believing that she would be able to keep the animal a secret from dorm administrators. However, belying its name, the porker soon started to grow larger.
By the time that the pig was as big as your average dog, it was impossible to hide and the student was ordered to get rid of the pet. Fortunately, according to a teacher at the school, the student’s parents then arrived to take the animal home.
Hopefully, this saga has taught the student not to judge a book by its cover. While they may be called “miniature pigs,” these breeds of domesticated pigs can vary from weighing 15 kg up to 90 kg.
