f champagne and Bloody Mary are the quintessential drinks for an extravagant brunch, then as the home of the classic cocktail, The St. Regis has certain standards to live up to for its Sunday meal. Exceeding these expectations is The St. Regis Shanghai Jingan, which is offering a culinary spectacle at Social every Sunday from 12pm to 3pm.
The sumptuous Sunday feast is a lavishly presented buffet of international and local delicacies inspired by the luxury hotel’s six dining venues. Pair your experience with free-flow Chandon sparkling wine, fresh juices, or the famed St. Regis signature Bloody Mary.
Seafood is arguably the draw here. There are freshly shucked live oysters presented with a medley of condiments. Succulent Boston lobsters chill on ice besides hulking legs of king crab and pearly white scallops. On order, a chef will slice a selection of sashimi from the hotel’s Seki Tei Japanese Restaurant, or head to the cold cut section where plates of smoked salmon await.
Move on to the meat, such as buttery foie gras, crispy bacon, and juicy German sausages, or take on the roast Australian Wagyu beef and grilled lamb chops. Hailing from the second-floor restaurant Bespoke, both are deeply charred and achingly tender. Cantonese barbecue meats are represented too, with Yan Ting Chinese Restaurant dishing out char siu and roast duck. Then fill up on staples such as steamed Chinese whole grains, dim sum, fried rice, or pasta and freshly baked bread from the oven.
Wind down with a selection of farmhouse cheeses like camembert, blue cheese, goat cheese, and emmental, which are presented with elegant rows of nuts, dried fruits, and crackers. Then finish off with an indulgent dessert spread of macarons, bread pudding, meuille feuille, coco-choux, tiramisu, and more.
