woman who recently went shoe shopping at a Zara outlet in Chengdu discovered a rather nasty surprise hiding inside one of sneakers that caught her eye.
The woman, surnamed Chen, says that when she tried to slip her foot into the shoe, she found that there was something stuffed inside blocking her toes. Believing that it was simply some paper, she reached inside and pulled it out before realizing that she was holding something strangely furry.
When she became fully aware that what she was holding was a dead rat, she dropped the animal in shock and cried out. An employee then came over and told her to go next door to wash her hands. When she returned, the rat was still lying on the floor, allowing her to snap a photo of the scene.
Chen claims that she didn’t receive a word of apology from any of the store’s workers about the traumatic experience. Zara has yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.
However, this isn’t the company’s first rodent-related problem. Back in 2016, a New York woman discovered that a dead rat had been sewn into a dress she bought from a Zara store, leading her to sue the company.
