following a fight between the driver and a passenger. However, it appears that some people somehow still haven’t learned.n one of last year’s most high-profile tragedies, a bus careened off a bridge into the Yangtze River killing all 15 people on board
Last week on a public bus in the Shaanxi city of Tongchuang, a driver told off a female passenger for smoking on the bus. The woman responded by angrily insulting the driver before taking out her scarf and wrapping it around the driver’s neck from behind, apparently trying to choke him.
Fortunately, the bus was already stopped by this time. It remained that way for more than 30 minutes as police arrived and took the woman away, detaining her for 15 days. Turns out, she had been drinking beforehand.
Contrary to common sense, a spate of attacks against bus drivers followed the tragedy in Chongqing last year. That trend has continued on to this year. Recently, a mother was detained in Hubei after attacking a bus driver who called her “uncivilized” for letting her son pee into a trash can on the bus.
