One of the most iconic cocktail bars in Paris is coming to Shanghai in March as Le Syndicat takes over The Ritz Bar & Lounge for five days, bringing French spirits and flair to their cocktails.
Happening from March 12 to 16, the bar is devoted to highlighting French alcohol and flavors in their drinks, and they were one of the first spots in the country to create cocktails using only local ingredients. It’s a move that has led them to number 24 on the World’s 50 Best Bars list in 2018, the highest place among all French bars.
For the pop up, head bartenders Giovanni Allario and Juliette Larrouy will be behind the stick at The Portman Ritz-Carlton everyday from 7pm till late, where they will be serving five drinks from Le Syndicat’s latest menu. Here’s a look at three cocktails.
Cafe Germain
This drink pays tribute to Le Syndicat’s bartenders’ favorite Parisian bars. The whole team went to 15 different places to get inspired and recreated that experience in a glass using only french alcohol.
45ml Blanche de Normandie

Champs-Elysees
Champs-Élysées is a tribute to the most famous avenue in France. As champs in French means fields, they played around with an Old Fashioned by using toasted malt syrup, and plum brandy adds strength and body for a clean, smooth, and balanced drink.

Peach Don’t Kill My Vibe
Peach Don’t Kill My Vibe nods to La Cité de la Mode et du Design, a green, twisty structure by the Seine river, which is how this riff on a vodka soda was born. The cucumber slice symbolizes the building’s architecture while bringing freshness alongside peach. Cardamom kombucha is added at the end for a low-abv, healthy-ist drink.
