Shanghai summer might deliver all the heat, but not many cooling tools to keep your gentle self alive through it. Who else knows how to deal with scorching temperatures best? Latin Americans with their tangy yet refreshing flavors.
Currently ranked at number 11 amongst The World’s 50 Best Bars, Mexico perfected Licorería Limantour will be running a pop up at The Ritz Bar & Lounge in The Portman Ritz-Carlton Shanghai. The pop-up is open for business from June 18-22, 7pm-12am every evening as part of the hotel’s Movers & Shakers guest bartending series.
Licorería Limantour opened its doors in 2015 in Mexico City and has since redefined mixology with Latin inspired flavors, local ingredients, and traditions that transport the patrons to their roots. When you think of Mexican cocktails, Margarita is most likely to be the first things that come to mind, however, Limantour is there to broaden your horizons.
During the pop-up, the mixologists will be serving up six drinks that are sure to surprise even the seasoned cocktail tasters. Tequila lovers might decide to take it up a notch with their Margarita al Pastor, that swirls together Tequila, Cointreau, taco mix, and lime.
In case there are too many bad (or missing) memories from tequila, a bit of gin has never hurt anyone. Savor the Ascuas, where Gin Beefeater comes together with Amontillado Sherry and roasted watermelon. Check out the rest of the exciting menu to keep you tipsy and merry throughout the week.

He is the three-time finalist in Bacardi Legacy Mexico and after winning the local final in 2016, he has been the Bacardi’s Ambassador for the last three years.
The pop-up will be hosted by The Ritz Bar & Lounge that is inspired by Shanghai’s glamorous 1920s and ‘30s, so there will never be too little “sexy” in the mix. During the day, guests can find an elegant spot for breakfast or lunch and evenings bring the sound of cocktail shakers and music to create the perfect setting for a relaxing lounge.
Impress your guests and friends by the glitzy Ritz Bar and surprise them further with your knowledge of Latin-inspired cocktails at Limantour pop-up.
