With more than $38 billion worth of stuff sold during Alibaba’s Singles Day shopping extravaganza this year, China’s bullet trains have once again been commissioned to help out with deliveries.
Traveling at a max speed of 350 kilometers per hour, the high-speed Fuxing trains provide special express delivery service between several Chinese cities during the country’s busiest time of the year for packages.
While the trains ultimately only transport a tiny fraction of all 11/11 purchases — and likely are more for publicity than efficiency — their help is still appreciated. Between November 11 to 16 last year, 187 million parcels were delivered in China.
