Chinese woman was pinned to her seat by cabin crew on a Thai Airways plane after allegedly deliberately coughing at one flight attendant during an extended delay at the Shanghai airport.
Footage from inside the Bangkok-to-Shanghai flight on Friday shows a male flight attendant holding the woman in a headlock before pushing her head into her seat as she struggles to break free.
Other cabin crew arrive to help with one saying to her, in a rather calming tone, “sit down, please.”
The incident occurred after the flight had already landed at Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport but as passengers waited on board the plane for seven hours to be allowed off because of tightened coronavirus screening procedures causing extremely long wait times at the airport.
According to the passenger who uploaded the video, the Chinese woman eventually went a bit “stir crazy” and coughed on a female flight attendant to try to get cabin crew to finally open the door. That strategy didn’t work, however.
“Senior male flight attendant was having none of it, warned her, then a scuffle ensued,” wrote the video’s uploader. “He was going to put her in cuffs, but eventually chose not to.”
