China now only accounts for a relatively small fraction of the world’s total number of reported coronavirus cases and deaths.
The number of global Covid-19 infections surpassed 1 million on Friday, doubling over the past week.
Much of this increase comes from the United States, however, outbreaks continue to plague many countries in Europe.

Meanwhile, the death toll has passed 50,000 with Italy and Spain hardest hit but the US moving up the list fast:

The United States has estimated that its death toll may reach 100,000 to 240,000.
