A glider collides with a car during a forced landing

A glider pilot died when his plane crashed in the Czech Republic. During the forced landing, he collided with a car.

A glider slammed into a car after crashing on a country road in the Czech Republic. The pilot died in the crash, police said on Tuesday. The occupants of the car were not injured. Photos showed the car’s trunk had been dented in the collision and the rear window had been shattered.

The accident happened in Rokycany, about 70 kilometers southwest of Prague. The road passes close to an aerodrome towards which the pilot may have headed. It was stuck for several hours. Experts from the National Institute for Air Accident Investigation (UZPLN) must now determine why the glider crashed.
